Driven by David Piper and Guys van Lennep at Le Mans in 1970, 021 suffered a shunt while Piper was running in 3rd place. Though hastily repaired at the track, it was sent back to the factory where its mechanicals were transplanted onto 012, so the one car is officially two 917’s. It even sported a version of the Hippie paint scheme at one period in it’s life. Quite a lot of history for one car.

I just love the way the S.E.V. Marchal graphic wraps the front fender, giving a sense of how curvaceous this car really is.
